Usage Instructions

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

IMPORTANT: Test an inconspicuous section of the carpet with this cleaner and a WHITE cloth to determine colorfastness. If color is removed from carpet, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

  • SET UP:
    1. Remove all furniture from area if possible.
    2. Inspect area for spots or stains. Blot up any wet stains with a CLEAN, WHITE absorbent cloth. (Note: Cloth should not have been used with any other cleaner or chemical.) For heavy spots or stains, clean with Professional RESOLVE® Stain Remover Trigger. Follow label directions for proper use.
    3. Vacuum loose soil and dirt from the entire area.
  • With an Extraction Cleaning Machine:
    1. Follow setup procedures.
    2. Lift any crushed carpet pile, such as areas under furniture, using a dull knife edge.
    3. Prepare cleaning solution by diluting 1:64 (2 oz. per gallon of water).
    4. Clean the carpet following the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
    5. After cleaning, place squares of aluminum foil under furniture legs to prevent rusting of metal glides.
    6. Reset carpet pile using a pile brush or shag rake.
    7. Allow area to dry completely to minimize resoiling.
  • For Traffic Lane (Bonnet) Cleaning:
    1. Follow set up procedures.
    2. Prepare cleaning solution by diluting 1:64 (2 oz. per gallon of water).
    3. Spray solution on small area of carpet (an area 3'x3' is recommended).
    4. Allow 1-3 minutes for Professional RESOLVE® Carpet Extraction Cleaner to penetrate carpet fibers and loosen soils and stains. DO NOT ALLOW SOLUTION TO DRY ON CARPET.
    5. Attach a clean bonnet pad to low-speed (up to 300 rpm) equipment. Lightly mist the pad with solution for additional cleaning power and lubricity.
    6. Work the area with the bonnet pad to remove soils and stains. Change bonnet pad as it becomes soiled.
    7. Repeat process with a clean, water-dampened bonnet pad. This will help remove any surfactant residue.
